I don´t buy the “leaded barrel” in that sentence. The barrel will get leaded after just a handful of shots and thus the irregularities are filled. The leading , however , keeps on building – layer for layer – untill it´s too thick. I go with the “polish the new barrel/bore” – method and that will remove those microscopic grades and such helping the break-in procedure. A modern Match Grade barrel / bore should need no break-in time in the same sentence they did many years ago.
Could you elaborate more on the “polish the new barrel/bore”? Do you mean cleaning it with patches and CLP or ballistol (as discussed earlier) or do you mean something extra?
If I understood you right Sir Ville, you suggest cleaning the barrel then taking few shots to fill irregularities and then the gun is in best shape. Did I get this right?
