I just got my name on the list for a 45 Ranger, anyone know how long the average wait is?

I received an email from Dan last week and he advised my rifle was being assembled. I contacted him by phone and we finalized the order. 😆
I must say we had a long conversation and he was most informative and answered all my questions. You can’t ask for more than that. This was my first time talking to him and It was a pleasure. Hopefully I wii receive it this week. I decided on the pepper thumbhole stock. Can’t wait…well I guess I proved I can, 🙄

Well..that was what I was afraid of but luckily I have several moulds in 458 also.
Last email from Dan advised my XP was being coated so maybe I’ll hear from him soon.

Ranger is .452 and Extreme is .457
The reason I was asking about groove dia. is that I have bullet moulds for the Ranger and was hoping that both rifles had the same. If their using the same barrels..that’s great!

Yup!
Very stoked about it, It exceeded my expectations and was well worth the wait.
Serious powerhouse with 2200-2500 psi, shot a 3 shots one hole group the second day I ever shot it.

I have not slugged my barrel so do not know the groove dia. I was told by Mr Hollowpoint that they get their barrels from same supplier that X-P gets theirs. I size everything with a Lee .457 sizing die. I have trouble chambering anything .458 or above. I love Lee R.E.A.L. bullets in 250 gr sized to .457. They shoot consistent one holers at 50 yds pushing 820 fps with a 3200 fill. Havn’t yet shot these at 4000 psi but plan to do so soon.
Oh..one question, what’s the groove dia. Of the barrel?

I also got impatient so I picked up an Extreme .45 in December from Al and Brent. Still waiting for my Ranger but sure having a ball with the Extreme in the meanwhile. Brent has designed the gun to shoot at 4200 to 4500 psi and she shoots between 500 and 600fpe with the larger bullets. I tuned mine down with a lighter spring that I picked up from Century Spring in LA and she shoots over 400 fpe with a 300 gr bullet at 3200 psi fills and is a tack driver with certain bullets. Let me know if I can provide more info. Al and Brent are super guys to deal with. I won’t be able to compare Ranger with Extreme until someday in the future but sure love this Extreme.
I really can’t afford two rifles in this price range right now and I’ve waited too long on the XP to go in another direction just yet. You’ve both stirred my interest though. What pressure range do they operate.

I also just ordered a 457 from Extreme Bigbore myself, Brent was a great guy to deal with he said approximately 4-5 weeks this was last week.
